Northern Sporades

The Northern Sporades also belong to the wider Volos area, in the prefecture of Magnesia. They consist of the three well-known and inhabited islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos, as well as several other smaller and uninhabited ones such as Kyra Panagia, Tsougria, Peristera, Gioura, Skatzoura, Psathoura, etc. From the port of Volos there is a continuous connection and daily ferry boats, Sea Dolphins, and recently also seaplanes with an economical ticket depart for the three islands, making a day trip to one of the islands possible. Also from the village of Achilleion (50 minutes from Volos), during the summer months small boats depart daily for daily cruises in Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos or even within the Pagasitikos.
